Magnetic jewellery such as magnetic bracelets have little effect compared to the possibilities of multi-polar magnetic field therapy devices such as the Q Magnets. You might be surprised to learn that in 2004, a clinical trial was published in British Medical Journal called ‘Randomised controlled trial of magnetic bracelets for relieving pain in osteoarthritis of the hip and knee’.
After many requests from patients, customers and doctors we have produced high quality Q Blankets which can be used as magnetic mattress pads as well. Made from quality polar fleece, our magnetic therapy mats or blankets (depending on how you use them) come in 2 models – Q13 and Q28 with 13 or 28 of our most powerful therapeutic magnets, the QF28-6.
We’ve already covered why we don’t sell magnetic jewellery here. Here, we explain why we are reluctant to manufacture braces and wraps with magnets pre-sewn into them. The brief summary is – we want you to get the best possible results using Q Magnets for pain relief. It’s not that magnet belts and braces don’t work, sometimes they work great.
The evidence grows, but more case studies and clinical trials are required. Much of the research around wound healing has focused on diabetic peripheral neuropathy, post-surgical and ulcer healing (see Reference List at bottom of article). For Best Results: Anecdotal evidence and published research shows that best results are achieved when the magnet is placed directly over the wound, immediately or as soon as possbile after an incident.
The theory that magnetic therapy could be used to enhance the lives of human beings was formulated in the early 16th century (Ramey, 1998). There is limited literature with regard to magnetic therapy and to athletic performance, and mostly in the form of testimonials. During training and competition two things occur in the muscles.
There is also evidence that low-dose naloxone with morphine has a similar effect of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines (Lin, et al. 2010). This suggests that the action of iSMF-exposure may be similar to that of serum morphine. Also in agreement with the results of this study was Chionna et al (2003) that a 6 mT SMF-exposure affected cell shape as a result of cytoskeleton rearrangements or by influencing the structural components of the plasma membrane directly.
